Scotch Cherry Cake Print E-mail

This is a very dense cake, but sure to please all your company over the holidays!

What you need:

  • 5 eggs
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 3/4 lb. butter
  • 1 lb. cherries
  • 4 cups flour (researve 1/2 cup)
 

 

 

 

What you do:

Cream butter and sugar until fluffy.  Add beaten eggs alternatly with flour.  Sift baking powder with 1/4 cup flour then add to mixture.  Lightly flour cherries with the remaining 1/4 cup of  flour, then add.

Bake at 300 for 20 minutes.  Reduce heat to 275 and bake for an additional 40 minutes.
